Detailed program:
Day 1: Fuya Fuya 4200 m – Otavalo
Flight from Germany, Austria, Switzerland , Serbia - Europe or USA - Pickup at your hotel in Quito and then we travel north; in a 2 hour trip through the mountains of the Andes we reach one of the most popular tourist destinations, Otavalo. There we will take a small road, which will take us to the Mojanda lagoon, where our first trek to the Fuya Fuya will start. After the trekking we descend to Otavalo and enjoy the beautiful hacienda where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Cuicocha trekking – Cotacachi & Otavalo Market
Our trekking around the Cuicocha Crater Lake will take us 5 hours. After that we will visit the major city known for their Ecuadorian leather Cotacachi and continue to descend to Otavalo where we will visit the market. The Otavaleños are the most traditional indigenous in Ecuador and differ by their clothing from other indigenous in Ecuador. Here we will have the time to buy crafts and enjoy the colorful market. In the late afternoon we return to our hotel to rest.

Day 3: Imbabura (4700 m)
We start at the foothill of Imbabura 4700m. This imposing mountain has the perfect positive slope to train in altitude, from 3400m to 4600m. As the dominant geographic feature of the area, Imbabura is of significant importance to the local culture, which involves a spiritual relationship with the land. The mountain is sometimes personified locally as Taita Imbabura, or "Papa" Imbabura. In fact, Imbabura is considered the sacred protector of the region. Imbabura is most frequently climbed from the town of La Esperanza or where the road ends about 4 km above it in the village of Chiruasi. From Chiruasi, the altitude gain is approximately 1600 meters.. A very nice hike with great views to the valley of Ibarra and hopefully see Cayambe. This is one of the most hiked mountains in Ecuador previous to higher altitude mountains. We traverse an hacienda and then start the hike up the moorlands and ending with a rocky terrain and small fun climb. The route follows a ridge and reaches the false northern summit then we return to the Hacienda to rest.

Day 4: Cayambe refuge (4600 m)
Today we head to the Cayambe volcano, the third highest mountain in Ecuador after the Chimborazo and the Cotopaxi. We will drive to the Oleas refuge (4600 m). Here we will get accommodation and enjoy the spectacular view over the Ecuadorian highlands. Food will be served at the refuge and we will spend the afternoon here resting for the big ascent at night.

Day 5: Cayambe (5790 m)
Our ascension will begin at midnight. The Cayambe is the third tallest mountain in Ecuador. The ascension is not of a technical type, it consists in crossing some crevasses and hiking up a beautiful glacier. We reach the peak early in the morning where a spectacular view will be presented in front of us to the valley and nearby mountains such as Antisana, Cotopaxi. For the ascension and back we will need around 9 hours. Afterwards we will have lunch on the way and descend to Papallacta Thermal Springs, famous for its renewing hot springs and relaxing atmosphere. Our reward for our great effort in Cayambe.

Day 6: Papallacta Thermal Springs
We will have time to enjoy the hot springs in the morning or we do an optional hike around the area, the vegetation is very special, despite the altitude you will see a lot of tropical plants and a unique fauna, small rivers and waterfalls everywhere. During the hike we go to the moorlands, observing the Andean nature and natural lagoons. In the afternoon we head to the south to our next wonderful lodge in the central Andes.

Day 7: Quilotoa lake trekking
We head to the central Andes. The Quilotoa Lake is one of Ecuador’s most spectacular sites, although relatively off the beaten path. The crater lake was formed when the volcano erupted many thousands of years ago. It is about 250 meters deep and is characterized by its stunningly bright turquoise color. We walk around the lake about 4-5 hours to complete the loop around the crater. Then we will be transferred to our hotel/lodge to spend the night.

Day 8: Chimborazo trekking
We enjoy a tranquil breakfast with views to imposing Chimborazo. Then we go for a wonderful trekking around the area and base of the mountain to admire the moorlands, views and meet the Andean camelid, alpacas and vicuñas. We reach the mountain refuges and reach up to 5000m at the base of the mountain.

Day 9: Baños
Today we head to the lively adventure base city of Baños. Located at the foothill of active Tungurahua volcano, we have spectacular views of the mountain. Baños is known for its adventure activities such as canyoning, rafting, trekking, mountain biking and more. We will visit the spectacular waterfalls at the outskirts of Baños, including the famous Pailón del Diablo. We will do a short trekking to discover more waterfalls and the amazing nature of the place. The afternoon is at leisure to discover this lively city.

Day 10: Baños to Amazon
Today we drive from the Andes to the fantastic Amazon Rainforest. We go down from the mountains until we reach the plateau of evergreen. We arrive to our lodge and we start enjoying the Amazon with the different activities they have planned for us. From nature walks to visits to the local communities to learn about their fantastic culture.

We have a full day to explore the fantastic jungle. After breakfast, our Indian guide will already be waiting for us and will accompany us on our jungle activities.

After this wonderful trip to the jungle it is time for our 3 – 4 hour transfer back to Quito. End of services.
